In his own words.
I moved to San Luis Obispo in 1976 to attend Cal Poly. Upon
graduation in 1980 I took three years to travel around the world by
ship, plane, sailboat, and more types of land vehicles (and animals)
than I care to remember.
My future wife (originally from Pacific Grove, California) offered me a
ride from a youth hostel in Dunedin, on the South Island of New
Zealand, and we traveled together for another six months after that. We
settled back in San Luis Obispo in 1983 and I enrolled in Cal Poly's
MBA program to enhance my employment opportunities. After graduation I
took a position with a CPA firm in San Francisco.
We lasted only nine months in San Francisco and made a hasty, homesick
retreat back to San Luis Obispo. I was offered a new position at the
San Luis Bay Inn in Avila Beach where I had worked off and on since
1976, starting as a bus boy. The owners of the hotel generously created
the job of "Resident Manager" for me, and within six months I had
become the General Manager of this five-star hotel.
In 1990 the San Luis Bay Inn was sold to a time-share company and I was
terminated. About to become a new father, I quickly obtained a Real
Estate License and never looked back. We now have two great boys, ages
12 and 14, and give thanks daily that we made the wise decision to
raise our family in this wonderful corner of the world.
In September, 2003, I bought the Re/Max franchise for San Luis Obispo
and found that I was destined to own my own company. We are small, but
dynamic. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of service
while placing absolute priority on maintaining our clients' best
interests at all times.
I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business.
